Week 12 Done, Week 13 Planned

The quickest of blog posts because I’m up to my eyes in stuff.

Week 12 went pretty well. Plenty of cycling in there, and ultimately something seems to have clicked into place on the bike. Still plenty of work to do, but did the same route this week for my brick session and it all seemed so much easier, although got round in exactly the same time. The bonus to this was that it was done the day after a near 70 mile cycle.

Week 12 In Summary

Key Sessions – Long Run was meant to be 6 miles, and I managed this with a standard club session run the day before the planned session. On the day of the planned session decided to do 4.5 miles with another group rather than push for the 6. The long ride was meant to be 2 hours non-stop and this turned into a mammoth 5.5 hour ride with very few stops – and those stops were short for regrouping purposes. Most importantly I felt fairly fresh at the end of the 5.5 hours!

Summary: 2xSwim (2.12 miles, 1hr 40), 3 x Bike (98 Miles, 8 hours), 3 x Run (13 miles, 2hr 10m)

Week 13 in Planning

This will be a nightmare week training wise. I’m heading away for a short break, so training will be on the back burner. Only option I’ve really got is to pack my trainers and hope for the best. Half an attempt at a plan looks like this:

Monday (lunch): Fink Swim #23
Tuesday (am): Cycle to Work
Wednesday : Rest
Thursday: Run (75 mins – Long Run)
Friday: Run (45 mins)
Saturday: Rest – long shot of a brick session
Sunday: Long Ride – at least  2 hours non-stop
